Recovery - Through Christ is a faith-based recovery program/support group in which Jesus Christ is the higher power and the Bible is the ultimate authority for obtaining peace in a life filled with struggles, hardships, dysfunctions, and addictions. The RTC program promotes spiritual and emotional healing through a combination of God’s Word and the 12 steps of recovery. This effective blend teaches individuals to react to the struggles of life in a healthy way instead of suppressing, coping, numbing, or simply avoiding reality. Through the program, participants learn how to carry their burdens (Matt 11:28-30), retrain their thought patterns (2 Cor. 10:3-5), and overcome their own great tribulations of life (Rev. 7:13-14). Our goal is to give individuals the tools needed in order to react to the struggles of life in a godly manner. We also understand that these life-controlling issues are most of the time symptoms of greater core issues. Together we try to see those core issues and work through them in order to stop the need for the dysfunctional ways we use to comfort the pain they cause. Jesus Christ gives us a way out and through Him we can find the peace we are searching for.
The "First Steps Toward a Changed Life" program is an intense nine-month study that immerses its participants into a greater understanding of God's love, grace, and mercy. We will meet each week and walk the 12 steps of recovery together - seeking true peace in a world filled with chaos and confusion. We have powerful discussion-style lessons and in-depth small group sessions.
Step Zero (or Transformations) focuses on preparation for, and maintenance during the recovery process. This phase of the program includes devotionals, personal stories, skits, and support groups meeting weekly in-between 12-step programs. Anyone 18 years of age and older is welcome to attend.
The leaders and facilitators do not serve as therapists, but are active in recovery from their own life-controlling issues. Their main function in the program is to be model participants, providing structure and added support to the group. If counseling is needed, a licensed therapist can be recommend. Our purpose is to point you to the One who can allow you the strength, hope, and healing that you need in your life. We are here to help you with your Recovery - Through Christ.
