What is Recovery-Through Christ?
Recovery-Through Christ is a faith-based 501(c)(3) dedicated to equipping congregations and organizations to launch and sustain life-changing recovery ministries through our proven, Christ-centered curriculum.
At the core of Recovery-Through Christ is an unwavering conviction: Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of healing and hope, and the Bible is the final authority for finding lasting peace amid life's struggles, hardships, and addictions. Our ministry weaves together God's Word and the 12 steps of recovery to foster genuine spiritual and emotional transformation — guiding participants to face life's challenges in a healthy, godly way rather than suppressing, numbing, or running from them.
Through this program, participants discover where to bring their burdens (Matt. 11:28–30), how to renew their minds (2 Cor. 10:3–5), and find the strength to overcome life's greatest trials (Rev. 7:13–14). We also understand that life-controlling issues are often rooted in deeper core wounds. Together, we work to uncover and heal those roots — so that unhealthy coping mechanisms are no longer needed to manage the pain. Through Jesus Christ, there is a way out — and through Him, lasting peace is not just possible, it is promised.

Healing Through God's Word & the 12 Steps
Our Mission Statement:
The Recovery-Through Christ nonprofit works to support and train other churches, congregations, and organizations to start recovery ministries in their churches or congregations using the Recovery-Through Christ material. The ministry is a 12-step support group for adults wanting to overcome life-controlling issues through empathy and biblical based principles.
Our Programs
First Steps Toward a Changed Life
"First Steps Toward a Changed Life" is an intensive nine-month study that immerses participants in a deeper understanding of God's love, grace, and mercy. Meeting weekly, participants walk through the 12 steps of recovery together — pursuing true peace in a world filled with chaos and confusion. The program features powerful discussion-style lessons and in-depth small group sessions designed to foster genuine transformation.
Step Zero → Transformations
Step Zero, also known as Transformations, focuses on preparation for — and maintenance during — the recovery process. This phase includes devotionals, personal stories, skits, and weekly support group meetings held in between 12-step programs. It is open to anyone 18 years of age and older who is seeking support and community on their journey toward healing.
Our Facilitators
Who Our Facilitators Are
The leaders and facilitators within Recovery-Through Christ do not serve as therapists — they are individuals who are themselves active in recovery from their own life-controlling issues. Their primary role in the program is to be model participants, providing structure and added support to the group. If professional counseling is needed, a licensed therapist can be recommended. Our purpose is to point every participant to the One who can provide the strength, hope, and healing they need — we are here to walk alongside you on your journey of Recovery-Through Christ.
Facilitator Training & Certification
We offer specific training programs designed to meet you where you are. Our New Facilitator Training equips individuals to step into the role of facilitator or co-facilitator for the first time. For those who are already leading a group, we offer a Re-Certification Training tailored to the specific needs of your ministry — helping it grow and thrive. All certifications are valid for two years.
Our Services
We provide education, training, and ongoing support to help congregations and organizations launch and sustain a recovery ministry. Our team equips facilitators with the tools, curriculum, and confidence needed to guide others toward healing through Christ.
